"I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Brener for pelvic floor physical therapy. She quickly analyzed my symptoms and created a treatment plan that was both effective and challenging. I really appreciated how attentive and receptive she was to my progress—always adjusting and building on the exercises to keep me moving forward. Her professionalism and expertise made a big difference in my recovery, and I felt truly supported throughout the process. Highly recommend!"

"I was treated here for low back pain with radiating numbness and tingling to the leg. I was able to rehab my back and gained the confidence I needed to get back into my yoga practice. I returned during my pregnancy and optimized my pelvic health as I grew heavier as well as felt prepared for a smooth delivery. Needless to say, I trust and love this place!"

"I can't say enough good things about PTSF - Krisia and Dana are absolute gems. I went to them with back and pelvic pain that we spent months working through. They were able to help me with the structural and alignment issues I needed fixed. When the underlying pain persisted, they were right there with me when I started to suspect endometriosis. They recommended doctors to go and see, talked me through what to expect and were there for me when I was diagnosed and scheduled surgery."

1. When should I start postnatal physical therapy after giving birth?
You can begin pelvic floor physical therapy as soon as you feel ready after delivery—typically within the first few weeks postpartum. Whether you had a vaginal or cesarean delivery, early intervention can help prevent long-term complications. We'll work with your timeline and recovery to create a safe, personalized plan that supports your healing.
2. Do I need a referral from my doctor to start treatment?
Florida is a direct access state, which means you do not need a physician referral to see a physical therapist. You can schedule your appointment directly with us and begin treatment right away. If you have insurance questions, our team is happy to help guide you through the process.
3. What should I expect during my first postnatal physical therapy visit?
Your first visit includes a comprehensive one-hour evaluation where we'll discuss your birth experience, current symptoms, and goals. We'll perform a thorough physical assessment, which may include evaluation of your core, posture, and pelvic floor function. Together, we'll create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and comfort level.
4. How many sessions will I need to see results?
Every patient is unique, but many mothers begin noticing improvements within the first few sessions. A typical treatment plan ranges from 6-12 sessions depending on your specific condition and goals. We'll continuously assess your progress and adjust your plan to ensure you're getting the results you deserve.
5. Is pelvic floor therapy painful or uncomfortable?
Pelvic floor physical therapy should not be painful. We use gentle, hands-on techniques and always work within your comfort level. Treatment is conducted in a private, judgment-free environment, and you remain in control throughout every session. Our goal is to help you feel empowered and supported in your recovery.
6. Can I bring my baby to appointments?
We understand that finding childcare as a new mother can be challenging. Please contact our office at (305) 510-5522 to discuss your specific situation, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs so you can focus on your recovery.
